“Ahead Of Their Time” released On This Day in 1993!
Recorded live at the Royal Festival Hall, London, England, on October 28, 1968, the first disc features a one-off performance of the musical play “Progress?” with the Mothers and members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The second disc features a rock concert by the Mothers Of Invention from the same night. Portions of the play can be seen in the Uncle Meat home video, while brief snatches of “Orange County Lumber Truck” and “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Sexually Aroused Gas Mask” were originally released on Weasels Ripped My Flesh”. “Holiday In Berlin” also appears on Burnt Weeny Sandwich.
